Tāne Mahuta

L.I to learn about Tāne Mahuta.

Tāne Mahuta meaning lord of the the forest is the Kauri tree that is found Waipoua forest of the North land region. It is estimated to be about 2,000 years old and is the tallestt tree in New Zealand reaching the height of 51.2 meters and is still growing. I would like to visit this tree because of its size and also because of some myths surrounding  Tāne Mahuta.

  1. Hi Vayan,
Well done on finishing this Summer Learning Journey activity. I would also like to visit Tane Mahuta one day, it would be an amazing experience. It would be incredible to see a tree that has been alive for about 2,000 years. Keep up the good work.

I'm glad to hear that you would like to visit Tāne Mahuta one day. It really is an impressive tree and looks even more mind-blowing in real life! I love that you have done research and shared some facts with us, Tāne Mahuta really does look like the Lord of the Forest, doesn't it? Wow, that is a very old tree but it sure looks good for its age, don't you think?

    Happy blogging,
    Evelyn :)
