L.I to think outside the box

For this challenge we were given a weird shape that we could make something out of. I drew a duck because the shape looked a duck's bill and some part of it's head. I liked doing this challenge because it required us to thin outside the box and I had fun drawing.

For this maths challenge I solved and answers three questions about how much food they can fit in the hangi (a traditional New Zealand Māori method of cooking food using heated rocks buried in a pit oven) The questions were multiplication based so I used multiplication to solve the questions.

For this challenge I wrote a three verse haiku poem that tells a story. My poem was about summer and how hot it is during summer.

For this challenge I wrote a one verse haiku poem. A haiku poem is a type of Japanese poem, it's structure is 5-7-5 which means that the first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables as well. My haiku poem is about the sun.

For this activity I did the second  of the three maths challenges. It was about two boys collecting mussels, we had to find out how many mussels each boy could collect. To solve the questions I had to find the most efficient strategy, for me it was multiplication and division.

For this activity I did the first of the three maths challenge given to us to complete. It was about Kahoa lole's (lolly necklaces) We had to find the strategy that worked for us the best. I used multiplication and division to solve the questions.

L.I to draw an animal from the Auckland zoo

Four our art activity we had to draw one of five animals from the Auckland zoo. I drew a Kiwi, it was pretty easy because we had step by step instructions.
