This week for kiwi can we talked about how to be a leader and how to be confident. First we started with our energizer called bop it. Bop it is a game where you have to try and copy the moves and not do the wrong one or be the last one to do the move. Next we were talking about being confident and how we can be confident. To be confident you need to take risks, try your best and overcome your fears. After we played our activity called bowchickawow. It is a game where you have to copy the next persons moves. When you do the first persons move, you have to copy it and add a move. Then we moved on to talking about how to be a good leader. Being a good leader to us is being responsible and being a role model.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Mrs Fisi'iahi.

L.I to respect others for their differences
In Kiwi Can we learnt about respecting others. Respecting others means to respect other peoples beliefs, ideas and customs. One way of being respectful is thinking about what you are going to say before you say it because it might be rude or offensive to someone. Our activity was spot the difference. in pairs one person had to change one thing about their appearance, while the other person was not looking. After each round we had to swap roles.

For our energizer we played a game that tested how good we could listen. L.I to show self discipline
For Kiwi Can we focused on self discipline, self discipline is controlling yourself. For this topic we played two games that required self control.
The first game was called rats and rabbits, in this game two people (one rat and one rabbit) had to get the cone before their opponent did. After that we talked about coping with challenges and things you're scared of. For our activity we had to do four challenges, each of them we had to complete in one minute. Our first challenge was doing five push ups, five sit ups, five squats and five burpees in one minute, this was my favorite challenge because it was a physical activity except for the push ups.
The second challenge we did was matching the Maori colour names to the English colour names in one minute, this challenge was hard for me because I don't know many words in Maori. Our third challenge was recreating the Kiwi Can catchphrase in one minute and them do it in front of the class, creating different actions were hard because we had to be really creative. Our fourth and last challenge was writing the alphabets backwards, this challenge was hard because we had to think a lot.

After we found those people we had to put them in order of less intense to most intense. After the energizer we talked about how emotions can effect you friends and family. For our activity in groups we were given a card with what act we had to, our act was about arguing about who gets to kick the drop goal in the final of a rugby tournament.

L.I to build positive relationships
Today in kiwi can we were learning about Friendship. We talked about situations where it is OK to say no! We disused different ways to say No that don't cause disrespect. We did a activity called empathy role play. A group acted a situation and as a class we needed to decide the way to say No. Our options were No thanks, Let's do something else instead, It's just not my thing and That's not a nice thing to do.

Kiwi Can / positive communication.
L.I to be a active listener and communicator.
This week for Kiwi Can we focused on being an active listener. We did this by playing two games that reacquired this skill. The first game we played was called remote control, in this game we had six of the remote controls which were pause, play, stop, rewind, fast forward and slow motion. After that we had a talk about active listening, what it meant and why you must that skill.
Later we played a game called Chop Sui Salute, this game also needed a lot of listening because Mr. Alapati only called numbers that he taught us that meant the moves that we have to do and the best part is that I was the champion of the game which was great.
