MOTAT
L.I to visiting MOTAT
On Tuesday 30th of July 2019 Learning Space 1 went to MOTAT to explore and do tasks. We did two tasks, our first task was to make a electric car using batteries, cardboard, a motor, tape, scissors, wheels, axle, propeller. The body of the car was made out of cardboard, we used skewers, our hardest challenge was putting the motor on the car itself. Our second activity was trying to generate enough power to get a flashlight working, we used cogs and Lego pieces to try and get the motor spinning so the light could flash. After that we went to a replica of an old village in the nineteenth century and other cool antique artifacts like planes used in world war I and II.

Persuasion
L.I to what is Persuasion
For writing we learnt about persuasion. Persuasion is when you try to convince someone to side with you in an argument. For our must do we did a poster about what persuasive writing is and how it effects the argument when you are being bias.

Maths
L.I to earn and look after money by creating with maths
This term for maths we are working as employees to earn as much money as we can for our companies which is our group. We get money for doing tasks from Level 1 difficulty to level 4 difficulty. We also have to pay for rent, different places have different prices. This week I did two digit subtraction, it was a level 1 job and I made a quiz.

Kiwi Can
L.I to learn how ton read emotions
This term for Kiwi Can we have a new Theme and this week we have a new topic. Our theme for this term is Resilience and our topic is emotions. We first talked about how you would in different scenarios like failing a test. For our activity we played a game called emotion disco. In this game one person would wear headphones and the Kiwi can leader would tell us an emotion to do, the person wearing the headphones has to guess what emotion the class was doing. Lastly we played a game of General Knowledge Questions.

L.I to Read
On Monday the 22 of July, three people from Duffy came to our School to perform a play to teach us why reading is good for you. The play they performed was about a game called made up game called magic blocks, where the main character Duffy goes to his cousins house. The problem is that she is always playing magic blocks, Duffy tries to annoy her by putting his grandma's glasses and starts dancing like his grandma and teleport's to the magic blocks game where he has thirty minutes to figure out how to get out of the game. He and her cousin Sam read her grandma's book and figures out that they have to do a dance in order to get out of the game. In the end Duffy convinces Sam that reading books is way better than playing games.

HIIT
L.I to HIT traning
For kiwi sport we did HIIT. HIIT stands for High, Intensive, Interval, Training. We did three exercises, the first one was push ups. We had three types of push ups to choose from, the first choice was the knee push up, the second choice was one leg push up and the third choice was the normal push up. The second exercises was mountain climbers. Here we had to have our hands straight and push your knees up to your elbows. The third and final exercises was pull ups. Here we had to pull our body up to the bars with your knees bent or your legs straight.

L.I to skim scan and summarize information
For reading we made a constellation of our choice using marshmallows. The constellation I did was Leo. Leo is a lion made up from nine stars and means Lion in Latin. For our must do we had to fill out a slide of questions and our constellation and write a tweet about it in less than forty words.

For we finished off our narrative that we did from our plays. We had six characters that we wrote the lines for. Our play was about two girls that we building a tree house, but a beehive showed up beside their tree house. For this story we did two story boards and an orientation.

Maths
L.I to do part - whole maths
For maths we did part - whole maths. Part - whole maths where you break the problem into parts and solve it one by one. We did fifteen problems on Addition and subtraction, Multiplication and division and Proportions and ratios using part-whole maths. We also explained the working our of one of the problems.
