Sentences

L.I to show an increasing knowledge of how a range of text conversations can be used appropriately

For writing we learned about homophones. Homophones are words that mean different things but sound the same. For our must do we had to make three simple sentences, three compound sentences and three complex sentences and and each sentence had to have a homophone. Simple sentences are just one idea or one independent clause. A compound sentences are two ideas or clauses joined together by a conjunction. A complex sentence starts with a conjunctions and is a sentence containing a subordinate clause or clauses.

Adding in parts and place value adding

L.I to learn how to adding parts and do place value adding

For maths we learned two strategies, they were place value adding and adding in parts. Adding in parts is where you make tidy numbers and super tidy number with the numbers you have to try and make adding easier. Place value adding is when you add in departments, like the ones department  added together, the hundreds department added together and the thousands department added together. In total we did four questions with two of them being place value adding and the other two being adding in parts.
